Concussion
Most back and neck pain can safely be assessed and treated in the clinic. However, a small number of symptoms need more urgent medical attention.
Concussion
Stiff, aching or sharp pain in your back or neck can make simple things — like sitting, turning your head or getting out of bed — feel difficult. Physiotherapy can help reduce pain, improve movement and stop problems from repeatedly coming back.
Depending on your needs, we combine manual therapy, targeted exercises and education so you know exactly what we’re doing and why. We review your progress regularly, adjust your plan and give you tools to manage symptoms and prevent the same issue from returning.
Common issues: Concussion
Best for: head injuries

What happens in your session ?
Your assessment and treatment are done in the same one‑to‑one appointment. We focus on understanding your story, examining how you move and then starting treatment straight away where appropriate.
- Conversation about your pain and goals We’ll ask when and how your symptoms started, what makes them better or worse, how they affect your work, sport or daily life, and what you’d like to get back to.
- Movement and physical assessment This may include checking your posture, joint range of motion, muscle strength, balance, walking pattern and specific tests related to your problem area.
- Hands-on treatment where appropriate Depending on your condition, this could involve joint or soft-tissue techniques, gentle stretches, or other manual therapy approaches to reduce pain and stiffness.
- Personalised exercises and next steps Before you leave, we’ll usually give you a small set of tailored exercises or self-care strategies, along with a clear plan for follow-up sessions if needed.
You’re always welcome to ask questions at any point- our goal is for you to understand what’s going on, not just to follow instructions.
